প্রতিষ্ঠার শুরু থেকেই বাংলাদেশ পৌরসভা সমিতি—ম্যাব বাংলাদেশের পৌরসভাসমূহের উন্নয়নের জন্য জাতীয় নীতি নির্ধারণী পর্যায়ে সহযোগিতামূলক ভূমিকা রেখে আসছে। বাংলাদেশের স্থানীয় সরকার ব্যবস্থা শক্তিশালীকরন, নাগরিক সেবার মান উন্নয়ন ইত্যাদি ক্ষেত্রে ম্যাব সব সময় ই কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। শুধু স্থানীয় পর্যায়ে নয়, আন্তর্জাতিক পরিমণ্ডলেও ম্যাব এর পরিচিতি ও কার্যক্রম ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে যার ফলশ্রুতিতে বিভিন্ন আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা ম্যাব এর সাথে অংশীদারি হয়ে দেশের নাগরিক সেবার মান উন্নয়ন সংক্রান্ত বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। আমি আশা করছি সরকারের বিভিন্ন উন্নয়ন পরিকল্পনা বাস্তবায়নে, পৌরসভার সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধিতে ও স্থানীয় সরকার ব্যবস্থা শক্তিশালী করতে ম্যাব ভবিষ্যতে আরো বলিষ্ট অবদান রাখতে পারবে।

Since its inception, The Bangladesh Municipal Association-MAB has been playing a cooperative role in the development of municipalities in Bangladesh at the national policy-making level. MAB is always working to strengthen the local government system in Bangladesh, improve the quality of citizen services, etc. Not only at the local level, but also in the international arena, MAB's identity and activities have spread, as a result of which various international organizations are working in partnership with MAB to implement various projects related to improving the quality of citizen service in the country. I hope MAB will be able to make a stronger contribution to the implementation of various development plans of the government, increase the capacity of the municipality and strengthen the local government system in the future.
